Quid Pro Quo

Johnny Virgil has written a book, apparently because he has less to do at work than I do. Or possibly he's one of those people who doesn't watch television fourteen hours a day. I wouldn't know. I haven't read it yet because I'm still catching up on the Twilight books, but I bet it's good. He's a talented writer and a funny guy, so you should probably buy it. Think of it as The Wonder Years, but with real kids.

Johnny Virgil

You can click right on the picture and go straight to Amazon. The Internet is like magic.

I don't usually pimp other people's stuff,* but Johnny bears a good deal of the blame for me starting a blog. Also, I don't want to wade through his old posts trying to remember what sort of hiking boots he bought, and I'm hoping he will tell me. Of course, I just know he's got regular feet, so it won't even matter. Do they make boots for hobbits? Because that's probably what I need.

* No one ever really asks me.

  4. Did you just say you're catching up on the Twilight books? Seriously? Because...why? I mean, I've read them all - (thank you, Hurricane Gustav, for leaving me without power for a week and nothing else to do) - but I'm sort of within the target demographic. Or at least closer than you are, haha.

I guess if you're into that, and if you want to read trashy vampire romance novels that are actually good (well, as good as trashy vampire romance novels can possibly be), check out the Sookie Stackhouse books. Those are the ones True Blood is based on. Very much better than Twilight. :)

  5. @Johnny; Thanks, I knew that would work. Now I just need to find a screen big enough so I can hold my foot up to the sizing chart.

@daisyfae: We're going to order a couple as soon as we figure out if he will really sign one.

@Jane: kidding. Wouldn't read a Twilight book if I were stuck on a desert island.

  7. How do you know this guy? Childhood?? Um, yeah, I can see you reading Twilight books like you would Harry Potter -- I did read HP, but my IQ let's me get away with it whereas yours is too high...but let us draw the line at vampires for tweens...

  8. The Twilight books are one of those instances where you think, "I wish I had the money from having written them, without the actual stigma of having written them."

  9. I have not read the Twilight books, nor have I read Johnny Virgil, but I trust your opinion for serious. Support blog books!
